Our Programs

Play-based learning is at the core of our curriculum program. An emphasis on exploration and free play are as integral to a child's development as learning the ABC's!The staff incorporates both NAEYC guidelines and Creative Curriculum strategies in developing a variety of learning experiences appropriate to the ages of our students. Sensory play, process-based art projects, and introductory academics are all integral parts of each classroom's daily routine.

As part of Flossmoor Community Church, Weekday Preschool models and encourages Christian values and behaviors, but there is no specific education component in the curriculum. Children of all faiths are welcome.

2-3-Year-Olds

In the Teddy Bear Room, children will not only receive a gentle introduction to the school setting, but also learn the foundations of independence, and cooperative play. Children ages 2-3-years will have ample opportunities to make new friends and learn from their peers and teachers!

3-4-Year-Olds

Snoopy Room builds on the introductory skills children learn in Teddy Bear; establishing basic academic concepts like name recognition, writing, and number recognition. As the child's imagination and capacity to learn grow, so does the environment! Children ages 3-4-years benefit from the Snoopy classroom as an introduction to school schedules and preliminary academic concepts.

Pre-Kindergarten

Children in the Rainbow, Star, or Sunshine room will be preparing for all kindergarten has to offer! The teachers will continue building on academic concepts and classroom routine, while still emphasizing the importance of free play, imagination and exploration. By following students' cues and interests, the teachers in each room build units and themes to keep engagement high and learning higher!
